This paper does have an abstract. It is a review of
Hodson's (2008) book, Towards scientific
literacy: A teachers’ guide to the history,
philosophy and sociology of science.
Rotterdam: Sense. As its name implies, this book
addresses such topics as the nature of purposes,
methods and truth-value of knowledge in the sciences
in terms of studies in history, philosophy and
sociology. This book could easily serve as course
book for a graduate course in this subject.
