Research Interests

At the moment I find myself most interested in how students engage in computer-mediated knowledge construction - both individually and collaboratively. For the last two years, I have worked closely with three secondary science teachers to co-design a wiki-based curriculum on the topics of human physiology and biodiversity. This curriculum was the first empirical study of the Knowledge Community and Inquiry (KCI) model developed by my Ph.D. supervisor, Dr. James D. Slotta. Other research interests include social computing, scripted collaboration, and Web 2.0 applications for teaching and learning.
